The UNON complex ensures a unique conference experience, offering UN standard facilities within the serenity of leafy landscapes. You will find it an assemblage of many worlds: a nexus of cultures, nationalities and languages within a well-kept 140-acre garden. Think modern conveniences, accessibility and first-rate security set against a unique backdrop of varied trees and vegetation. 

UNON boasts more than 1,500 staff of 144 nationalities. More than 3,500 people come through the compound gates each day, and double this amount during major conferences. The United Nations Department of Safety and Security deploys a 24-hour security force that provides a high level of safety to staff and visitors.

While exploring this oasis of green in the centre of Nairobi, including our nature trail, water features and memorial garden, you will find that birds and wildlife are a common sight here. The 10km nature trail on the compound is ideal for walking, running and spotting a variety of birds and plants. It showcases 600 indigenous tree species. The seasonal swamp is an ideal place to spot water birds and grey-crested cranes. The adjacent Karura Forest offers a chance to observe many species of small forest animals, birds, butterflies, reptiles and insects.
