Greening conferences in Nairobi
The Division of Conference Services closely monitors its use of resources in connection with servicing conferences and meetings. The Printing Section was issued with an ISO 14001 certificate in 2004. The certificate confirms that the Section uses the ISO 14001 environmental management standards to produce documents and printed publications. The Section strives to make the production of documents as environmentally friendly as possible without wasting any resources that can be recycled or reused.

In addition to that certification the Section also ensures close contacts between the Documents Control Unit and the Distribution Unit in the conference area to reproduce only the minimum required number of documents for any given meeting or conference, thereby minimizing the carbon footprint.
